What Bart Simpson and I Have in Common...

2 min read

Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons was quoted once as saying, "I grew up completely overwhelmed by TV, and part of the reason why I have gone into television is as a way to justify to myself all those wasted hours of watching TV as a kid. I can now look back and say, 'Oh, that was research.'"

I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED TO SHOP

So it totally makes sense to me why I am so enamored with brick and mortar (retail) stores, esthetics, design and why I also spend all the time I should be (shout out to yesterday's post) doing something else - redesigning the website, making sure the contrast and the edits to the photos are perfect, and well y'know a picture goes from looking like this...

to this...

I blame all the years I spent shopping...

But if Matt Groeing has the potential to create a show which is like the LONGEST running television show on the planet (go figure) and can be creatively inspired for his whole life, then maybe there is hope for me!

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE YOUR WHOLE LIFE

It's not a pointed question, have you; talked, laughed, shopped, crunched numbers... I am sure there is something you have done repeatedly that you have done so much, the only component missing in you doing that thing fulltime is that you haven't been "discovered" yet. Well my advice and encouragement is to KEEP GOING. If BART can do it - you can too!

Also, I didn't mean to leave you hanging regarding the travel ID, Federally it is required to prove citizenship with TSA - where they have had all our ID's given the seal of approval by way of a "REALID" in the state of California, or a "STARID" other places - it is a star on your drivers liscence which means you have brought your birth certificate, etc to the DMV to prove citizenship. I had not done that until yesterday when I went to the DMV and paid my dues, brought my documents, and took a new unexpected picture - oh YAY.

Holy Spirit...

Today I got lost in editing pictures and reworking the website (AGAIN) instead of spending time with you and relaxing in my morning routine. I was TIRED from staying up too late last night. Please forgive me. Show me how today can be as great as it can be. Please be with the children as they go about their day. Protect them, love them, and surround them with your grace and favor. Please be with my husband today and show him You are with Him and give him the confidence in You we all need.
